Pushed to 2018

Rockstar games have announced today that the highly anticipated sequel to Red Dead Redemption has been delayed from it’s planned late 2017 date to Spring 2018 (US season) which will put the game into the Q2 slot for next year. Roughly a 6 month delay.

The delay today on the Rockstar Games Blog, stating that “some extra time is necessary to ensure that we can deliver the best experience possible for our fans.”

“We are very sorry for any disappointment this delay causes, but we are firm believers in delivering a game only when it is ready. We are really excited to bring you more details about the game this summer.”

While the delay isn’t what fans want to hear, Rockstar do know how to make high quality games so it should be for the best in the long term. Their last title Grand Theft Auto V despite being released back in 2013 is still in the NPD top 10 sales charts most weeks since it’s launch.

It’s not all bad news though. Along with the delay news Rockstar also released a bunch of new screenshots for Red Dead Redemption 2 which you can view below.
