In today’s Nintendo Direct we got a lengthy focus on the upcoming Fire Emblem: Three Houses. During the 5 minute clip we learned about the continent of Fodlan, the land where the game takes place. Fodlan is primarily made up of 3 separate regions
Some background for your player character is also given. You play as a mercenary who’s group is lead by your father. After an unexpected incident you’ll travel to the Garreg Mach Monastery where you’ll be asked to teach at the Officer’s Academy.
Garreg Mach Monastery lies at the certre of Fodlan. The Officer’s Academy is comprised of three houses, the Black Eagles, from the Adrestian Empire nation, lead by Edelgard. The Blue Lions, from the Kingdom of Fargus, lead by Dimitri and the Golden Deer, for students from the Leicester Alliance and is lead by Claude. In the game you will be able to align with one of these houses to shape your story and character interactions.
And we learned that these interactions with others in the academy lead to various advantages on the battlefield as the combat is still a core mechanic in this Fire Emblem game.
The Direct ended with the powerful tagline for the game which sums up what kind of experience Fire Emblem: Three Houses plans to offer: 3 territories, 3 houses, your very own journey.
