Over the weekend at the D23 Expo in Japan Square Enix revealed the latest trailer for the long awaited Kingdom Hearts 3.

Every new trailer for Kingdom Hearts 3 so far has revealed a new world that we’ll be visiting in the upcoming title, and this one is no different.

It’s announced in this trailer that we’ll the revisiting the world from the Pixar classic Monsters Inc, and of course Sora, Donald and Goofy will be getting monster forms while inhabiting Monstropolis in true Kingdom Hearts fashion.

New Trailer Details

The new trailer begins by reintroducing the gang to Marluxia, the big bad from GBA title Chain of Memories. A character believed to be dead and confirms that Sora no longer has his memories from that time in Castle Oblivion. To which Marluxia replies “It’s a shame you have no memory of me, because I remember you exceedingly well.”. Could we be seeing the revival of the old Organisation XIII in some way in Kingdom Hearts 3?

We then get shown a short cutscene clip set in the Toy Story World revealed in the D23 trailer from last year before the big reveal of Monstropolis. Followed by a gameplay montage featuring clips from all the currently announced worlds and their unique visual and gameplay styles.

The trailer closes out showing Vanitus, who you may remember if you’ve played through Birth By Sleep hunting Sora to retrieve the piece of his heart in which Ventus resides.

If none of that made sense to you or you need a refresher course it’s not too late to grab the 1.5 + 2.5 Remix collection and get up to date before Kingdom Hearts 3 releases some time in 2018. Lets hope there is a release date announcement coming at this year’s E3.
