Everything Announced at the Square Enix E3 2019 Conference

Square Enix were back a E3 this year for their annual conference and wow did they bring some big and exciting things to the show.

Kicking off strong, they jumped right into showing off more of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake. The game is looking fantastic and appears to be getting treated with a lot of care. The on stage presenters discuessed that they have a lot of content planned for the game and that it would require 2 Blu-Rays to fit it all in. The official press release mentions that this release is

The first game in this project will be set in the eclectic city of Midgar and presents a fully standalone gaming experience that provides a great starting point to the series.

Meaning that we’re likely not getting the whole Final Fantasy 7 experience remade in one go.

We were then shown another gameplay clip showcasing the modified combat of the remake, it’s Tactical Mode and some special abilities we’ll be using as Cloud and Barrett before being told to expect a whole lot more over the coming months. This segment ended with a further gameplay clip featuring a full boss encounter, with Cloud and Barrett going head to head against the Scorpion Sentinel.

Tetsuya Nomura then came to the stage to thank fans for their patience and announce that the game will be playable at the Square Enix booth for those attending E3. He then introduced a longer version of the trailer revealed yesterday which ended with the 03.03.2020 release date and revealing the multiple editions available for the game.

A free demo for Dragon Quest Builders 2 will be available on June 27th for the PS4. The full game releases just a few weeks later on July 12th for the PS4.

Iconic Square Enix Music is Now on Streaming Services

Square Enix’s music catalogue will be making it’s way to music streaming services. This will start with tracks from the Final Fantasy series. Starting today, listeners around the world can press play on the full original soundtrack and arrangement albums for games in the beloved series at any time and on the go. They will be available on major music streaming platforms including Apple Music, Spotify and Amazon Music.

People Can Fly Reveal Their New IP Outriders

The head of People can Fly, the studio known for developing Gears of War: Judgment and Bulletstorm came to the stage to reveal their new IP Outriders. Outriders is a 1,2 or 3 player drop-in drop-out shooter that can be enjoyed co-operatively or alone. They then showed off a dev diary style video that showcased the high level story of the game as well as some awesome looking monster and weapon designs.



Oninaki Gets New Trailer and Story Details

Oninaki will be available globally on 22nd August 2019. The E3 trailer highlights some of the mysteries that Kagachi will encounter during his epic adventure between the world of the Living and the realm of the Beyond.

Final Fantasy 8 Will Finally Be Getting Remastered

After a long wait and endless questioning from fans it looks as though Square Enix will finally give Final Fantasy 8 the same remaster treatment many other entries in the Final Fantasy series have gotten over recent years. It will be coming out later this year on Steam, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

The Show Closes With A Lengthy Look at Crytal Dynamics’ Avengers Game

Jumping right into a reveal trailer, we got our first look at the Avengers title that was initailly teased years ago.

Shaun Escayg and Marvel’s Bill Roseman came to the stage to give the game it’s official reveal. Discussing how you’ll be able to play as Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Black Widow and Hulk in the title. The game will feature original renditions of these characters in what was explained to be Crystal’s own universe meaning the events of the much loved films will sit separate to what we play here. It’s promised to be an all new story with authentic Marvel story telling.

We then got another video, this one revealing the core cast of the game with the whole cast being made up of the biggest names in voice acting right now.

Nolan North then introduced an exclusive gameplay clip setting up some more of the story before Scott Amos, Head of Crystal Dynamics and Meagan Marie, Community and Social Media Manager came to the stage to reveal that content will be ongoing for the project post launch and will be a service that grows for years. You can also play the game in a 4 player co-op fashion. But the best news is that every additional hero and region added to the game post launch will be available for free. The game is also stated to have no pay to win model or loot boxes.

The game was mentioned to be partnered with Sony and PS4 players will get early beta access to the game as well as undisclosed ‘unique benefits’.

A final clip revealing Hank Pym being in the game was played before revealing that Marvel’s Avengers will release simultaneously for the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, the Xbox One family of devices including Xbox One X, Stadia, and PC on May 15, 2020.
