Quantic Dream have announced today via a post on the Playstation Blog that after 4 years in development their upcoming game Detroit: Become Human has officially gone gold.

The neo-noir thriller, developed by Quantic Dream, is set in a dystopian vision of our near future. Based in the city of Detroit, it follows the story of three androids, three machines designed to obey, who start to feel emotions.

The fate of Connor, Kara and Markus is in your hands, along with the fate of all other characters in the game.

Try It Today

To celebrate this milestone, and to help you pass the time as you hold on just a little while longer for the game’s release on 25th May you can now download a free demo containing the first scene of the game, Hostage. The demo scene puts you in the shoes of android hostage negotiator Connor, as he attempts to talk down an armed rogue android who has turned on his family.

This sequence has made the rounds at various trade shows over the last couple of years and we even got to play it last year at the PAX expo. It will be great to jump back in and play things differently to experience the different outcomes.

Quantic Dream Co-CEO and Executive Producer, Guillaume de Fondaumiere, and Production Director, Sophie Buhl, state in the blog post:

“Through your decisions and actions, you will have the opportunity to become the writer, the director and the main protagonist of the most branching story we have ever created.”
