The Konami Classic Gets Animated
Netflix has released the first trailer for their upcoming Castlevania animated series. Announced to be in the works earlier this year, we now have a release timeframe of July to look forward to.
The official description of the series states:
Castlevania will focus on the game franchise’s Belmont clan, as it follows “the last surviving member of the disgraced Belmont clan, trying to save Eastern Europe from extinction at the hand of Vlad Dracula Tepe himself.”
Producer Adi Shankar when talking about the series said “This is very much Castlevania done in the vein of Game of Thrones. It’s going to be R-rated as f***.”.
Shankar has also said that Akira, Ghost in the Shell, and Young Justice were among the series inspiring the Castlevania series’ art design. Just another reason to get excited for the upcoming series that will be hitting our screens in July. The story is set to be told over multiple seasons. With season one coming in July and the second to follow in 2018.
